California Sunshine

I feel guilty that I haven't posted anything in awhile, so here's an update for all you fans!! We took a weekend trip down to SoCal recently. It was fun to see family and friends and Scott got some work done as well! We met Parker's cute girlfriend Jacqueline and enjoyed the sunshine :) I got a reminder of the freeways in SoCal... there's nothing like the 405 during rush hour!

I also got to spend time with my two besties from high school, yes we are still friends after all these years! Stacy and Crystal both have adorable little ones... 4 1/2 total! We went to the park (any mom knows that trying to take your kids to a restaurant and carry on an adult conversation is impossible, unless you are at McDonald's...) and let the kids run around. I think we all enjoyed the sun. It was so fun to watch them run around and find new adventures!

I want to thank Stacy and Crystal for their friendship. I wouldn't have survived high school without them and love the fact that even though we don't talk on a weekly basis, it feels totally normal when we do get to see eachother and talk. I recently pulled my Rainbow sandals back out of the closet where they had been hiding. After a long Winter, it was nice to finally be able to wear them again. I am always amazed to find how perfectly comfortable they feel when I slip them on, even after months of hibernation! Not that I want to compare Crystal and Stacy to my old and stinky pair of sandals, but, it did remind me of our friendship... We have been through a lot, but they have never let me down! It always feels so right when I wear them (the sandals, not my friends!) and it's like I can breathe a sigh of relief when I have them on... Anyways, I hope you guys don't think I'm nuts, but I just wanted to share. Thanks Crystal and Stacy!!!

Splish Splash

Saturday we took a field trip to the Living Planet Aquariums with Ben, Riley and Paige. We had a blast! We saw a ton of animals and even got to touch the stingrays! (Scott got a little excited and stuck his whole arm in, forgetting about his sleeve...) We LOVED the new exhibit with the penguins! They are soo cute! They were definitely one of the most entertaining of all the creatures we saw. I learned that they can swim up to 22 mph! Wow!! I also learned that while you can find penguins in Australia, New Zealand and the Galapagos Islands, you won't find them at the North Pole. I guess that's why Santa chose reindeer... I am pretty sure that I have heard this fun fact more than once before, but I always seem to forget! The octopus was asleep, which was disappointing, but watching him sleep was still pretty cool. The glass made it hard to hear, but I am quite sure that he was snoring... Paige tried very hard to wake him up by pounding on the glass, but he didn't seem to notice. Between the starfish, frogs, electric eels, anaconda, giant tarantula, seahorses, anemones, and all other fun animals it was an educational and entertaining day! Here are a couple quotes from our little adventure:

Scott walks up to the ticket window...
Scott: "We need 5 tickets please"
Ticket Window Dude: Looks over the counter at us... "So 4 kids and one adult?"
Scott: Ummm... 3 kids and two adults. I like my wives to be legal.

Paige: "Aunt Rachelle, when are you going to have babies? I want you to have babies right now!"

I don't know why I was kissing the frog, I have already found my Prince!

Paige was trying to make out with the frog. We had to stop her... twice!

These were just friendly kisses, don't worry Stace!

Aww... Scott and his 4 kids

Nice pose Paige!

Three kids in a cave!

Paige and Scott with the stingrays- and a wet sleeve!

Ben knew more about the animals than me... and I got an A in Biology!

One Year Older and Wiser Too!

Saturday was Scott's birthday. I like birthdays! So, Scott's special day started off with breakfast in bed. I made belgian waffles with strawberries and whipped topping and bacon (which I thought was especially nice because I am a vegetarian) and some OJ. The day ended with some good friends coming over for pizza and cheesecake. Oh, and Scott got a Wii for his birtday so it involved some serious rounds of Mario Kart. Scott and I played against eachother twice and I won both times... (I have to brag because in real life if we were racing he would totally kick my butt.) Unfortunately, the middle of the day consisted of cleaning, because even though it was his birthday, the chores wouldn't do themselves :( Sorry Scott!
All in all, it was nice to spend the day celebrating such an amazing guy!!

Who's Your Daddy?

Recently, my boss Shannon decided that it was time for him to move on to greener pastures. He chose Oklahoma... exactly- do people even live there? Aside from the musical, can anyone even tell me anything about Oklahoma? Including where it's located...? I didn't think so! Anyways, as a farewell gift, Scott and I volunteered to watch his 5 little ones so he and his wife could enjoy a night off. They have 4 girls and one boy who are all adorable. They were fun to watch, but even more entertaining to listen too. Here are some quotes of the night...

Preston, age 4: "Why are you so small and your dad is so big?"
Me: "Do you mean my husband?"
Preston: "What" with a quizzical look on his face before he walked away...

Brinley, age 6: "Do you and Scott live at the same place?"
Me: "Yes, we're married"
Brinley: (after a long pause to think) "So does he see you get out of the shower?"
Me: Silence, but a scared/confused look on my face...
Brinley: "Do you shower together? Because sometimes my mom and dad do."
Me: Still silent, but now holding back laughter...

All in all, it was a fun and informative night. We found out later that Brinley had a knack for telling neighbors much more than they needed to know... Haha... I can only imagine the conversations!

Just A Taste of What's To Come...

This blog is a chance to give you a little taste of our life... Since both Scott and I have failed at attempts to keep up blogs of our own, I hope that a combined effort will endure. Only time will tell...

We have now been married for over a month! Weird! And wonderful! Were married on Jan. 2nd in the Newport Beach Temple and had a reception at the Arroyo Trabuco County Club- shout out to Tadonna (my mom) for all her hard work on
that! It was great :)
We then headed off to the Mexican Riviera for a week long (and much needed) cruise! Scott planned our honeymoon as a surprise- what a stud!

Well, I will make this short, but will post a few pics for those of you who haven't seen them- enjoy!
